Saturday - November 21st, 2026 - EL GASTOR (CÁDIZ)
In 2026, we celebrate the seventh edition of a race that is no longer just a race, but a gathering of family and friends — a true community brought together by shared values. We run with nature in mind.
The route stretches between Montecorto and El Gastor, winding through ancient olive groves, where millennial oak trees stand guard, where trails reveal both farm and wild animals, and along ridge lines with views that ask you to slow down, even if just for a moment.
Every step brings you deeper into a landscape shaped by care — where biodiversity thrives, where Lusitano horses roam freely, where vegetables grow without chemicals, and where silence still has a place.
As always, 10% of registration fees are donated to local environmental projects — a way of investing in the future through action. Plastic use is kept to a minimum, and all medals and trophies are made from recycled and natural materials.
We run not to conquer the land, but to honour it. To move through it with respect. And to return home, a little more connected — to the earth, to each other, to ourselves.
The Ecomaratón La Donaira welcomes all who feel aligned with these values. Whether you’re a seasoned trail runner or simply want to walk the route and take it all in, we hope to see you next November.

Because movement can be a form of connection — to the land, to ourselves, and to a way of living that values balance, effort, and care.
-
It’s born from the same principles that guide everything we do — from how we farm and raise our Lusitanos, to how we welcome guests. The marathon respects the land, supports biodiversity, avoids waste, and brings people together with intention.
-
It can be, if that’s what you’re looking for. But for many, it’s not about the finish time — it’s about the experience, the landscape, and the people you share it with.
-
Because every aspect of the event is designed with the environment in mind. Medals and trophies are handmade using recycled or natural materials. Plastic use is reduced to a minimum. The number of participants is limited to protect the land. And 10% of all registration fees are donated to local environmental initiatives.

Yes — and if you can, it’s a special way to complete the experience. After the race, there’s the reward of slowing down: a visit to the spa with its steam bath, wood-fired sauna, and cold plunge, or a good massage to soothe tired muscles.
Then comes the food — fresh, seasonal, and grown just meters from where you ran. A meal that restores with real nutrients, straight from the land.
With only nine rooms, spaces fill quickly, so we recommend booking well in advance.
If you stay at La Donaira during the Eco Maraton weekend the inscription is on us :)
